Two arrested in break-in of elderly woman’s home | News

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. — Two people were arrested in connection with a home break-in where a 74-year-old woman lives, Winston-Salem police said.
Rakim Galloway, 22, and Cornell Hooks, 21, both of Winston-Salem, were arrested after an incident on Prytania Road, police said.
A 74-year-old woman, whose identity has been withheld, heard knocks on her door and her doorbell constantly ringing around 9:45 a.m., police said.
The woman called 911, but as she did so, the suspect kicked her door down, police said.
When the suspect saw the victim, he fled the home on foot toward Hope Valley Road, police said. The victim was not injured.
A SWAT Team stopped a vehicle on Hope Valley Road, and the woman identified Galloway as the suspect who entered her home, police said.
Galloway and Hooks were both charged with felony breaking and entering and conspiracy to commit breaking and entering with the intent to commit felony larceny.
Both were placed in the Forysth County Detention Center under $10,000 secured bonds. Both were given court dates of March 9.
