WINSTON SALEM, N.C. — A Winston-Salem woman whose body was found in a trash can nearly three months ago died of a stab wound to her chest, an autopsy shows.

Constance Edwina Hall, 47, was found Nov. 24 in the 900 block of Manly Street near Cook Elementary School. Winston-Salem police are treating Hall’s death as a homicide.

The autopsy was conducted at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Chapel Hill. It also revealed that Hall had a bruise on her right eye.

Police Capt. David Clayton said Thursday that investigators have no leads or suspects in the case.

“We haven’t received that tip we need to help us with this one,” Clayton said. “We have spent hundreds of man-hours on it, but we have no positive leads yet.”
